POV: You heard Cold Plunging Kills Muscle Gains? Sure looks like it’s hurting @ztrichie 😝 Real talk: You do know “timing and temp” is a thing, right? That study people keep talking about is from a 2015 study where participants did resistance training and jumped immediately into 50° water for 10-15 minutes. Of course they saw a decrease in muscle hypertrophy! That’s a terrible idea! Ain’t nobody sitting in 50° water for 15 minutes after a workout looking to grow muscle, they are looking for fast recovery. That’s it. But you can build muscle, AND cold plunge regularly. It’s about timing. Either cold plunge before a workout for 2-3 minutes max, or wait 4-5 hours after your workout (which seems dumb to me), or just jump in for under a minute after to rejuvenate the body and mind right after a workout. That’s what most actually do who aren’t professional athletes who ice bath for long times after a game to recover faster. Don’t be fooled by the “studies” and go learn about this stuff for yourself. I’m not a scientist or a Dr with a degree, which is good. I experiment with it all and see what works for me, my family, and my friends. We feel better, perform at life better, and become better members of society for it. Stop ready, start doing. @plunge Comment PLUNGE for a 🔗 Not a Dr, not medical advice 😘
