Get out your tasbeeh, get out your journal, sit in meditation - whatever works for you, and start listing out all the things you have to be grateful for in your life right now. Two pieces of advice that soothe my soul: 1) Get out of the way. Let God do what He does. Allow Him to take the wheel in your life and fully submit to Him. He knows best how to navigate so let Him take the wheel for your best and highest good. Don’t let limiting beliefs, negative/pessimistic thoughts or fear/doubt creep in. Give it all to God like your life is none of your business. 2) Believe in His miracles. Allah is Al Wahhab the Supreme Bestower. Impossible is nothing for Allah. In an instant everything can flip. Nothing is out of His control. A mountain range can turn to dust in an instant with Allah - it’s nothing to Him. So give everything to Him and believe in His miracles. Why do we say yes to things when we should say no? Why do we overload our plate when it’s already full? Well.. pick your poison. People pleasing, succumbing to guilt or manipulation, keeping busy as an avoidance mechanism - and the list goes on. But sooner or later the burden of these things will collapse - because this is not what Allah intends for us. There’s no balance in it. In His infinite mercy He does not give us more than we can handle, yet we consistently take on more than we should. Until we can’t. And we learn to say no. We learn what our actual limits are and how much we can take on in a day. We learn that guilt and manipulation will not move us anymore. That our mind can no longer trick us into thinking there’s more to be done. If Allah doesn’t want it for us, we shouldn’t either. Release the load 🪽🪽🪽 #Ramadan2025 #RamadanReminders

I’ll take any chance I can get to connect with the Prophet (S), to experience something he experienced. To do something he did. The whole time I was on that camel I thought, wow - this was his car. I wonder how he spruced it up. What did his saddle look like? What did he name it? Spiritual bonds can be forged with animals, I felt it with Sabrina, this beauty. You just know the Rasool (S) and his camel had a mystical connection. They could probably communicate through the mind and the heart. Camels are some of the most resourceful animals - they go within for nourishment after weeks even months without water. They are mystical creatures and you can feel it when you ride one. Reminder: you’re exactly where you need to be right now. It’s ok to rest. Take things slow. Calm your nervous system. Fasting can kick our nervous system into overdrive as if we’re supposed to be doing something (like finding food, a primitive response) - it tricks us into thinking we need to be overactive. But the jihad-al-nafs (internal struggle) of this month is to work against that and tell your mind, body and soul it’s ok to rest. We need to rest, we literally don’t have fuel in our bodies to operate at a high level. And it’s in that time of rest and slowing down that we are most connected to Allah (S). Ramadan is a time we charge our spiritual battery. And what are the spiritual muscles we’re strengthening? Tawakkul (trust), Yaqeen (belief and conviction) connecting to Allah’s words through the Quran. We cannot do these things in an overactive state. It comes when our nervous system is calm. When we’re at rest. It’s ok to slow down ❤️
