I’m still getting asked a lot about the context of yesterday’s reel and I want to answer your questions with transparency and openness. But I don’t want to see anyone be hateful to one another, so for that reason comments will be closed and I will respond to further questions in messages. There was no political intention behind yesterday’s reel, and I was unaware of the celebrity’s personal politics until after posting. Where I stand? My personal values reflect a deep commitment to equality, justice, and the well-being of others. I believe everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves access to basic human rights — like healthcare, education, and housing — as well as fair treatment and opportunities. I believe the current system creates and perpetuates inequality, where the few billionaires in the U.S. hold power and resources at the expense of the working class and marginalized communities. I believe most of us here have felt systemic injustice or seen it happen. I care about creating a society that prioritizes the needs of the many over the profits of the few, and that works to lift up those who have been historically oppressed or disadvantaged. I want a world where people look out for one another, where everyone has the chance to thrive, and where love and respect for others shape both social policies and ***everyday interactions*** just like these interactions right here on social media and towards each other. It’s hard to see the focus put on an assumed message about a celebrity wearing a jacket, when the world is facing so many deeper issues. At the end of the day there are so many common values we ALL share; We all have an uphill battle and progress won’t come without a peaceful exchange of ideas and being able to show compassion for each other in the meantime. I’m sorry to anyone whom my post offended, and I understand. I can’t change the world but I will forever be honest and transparent with you, and I’ll pour my heart into my designs—which I hope can bring you comfort, joy, or a sense of identity in a world that often, and especially right now, feels out of control.
